Mold Preparation & Rotation

A permanent cylindrical steel die mold is pre-heated, coated with a ceramic thermal barrier, and set spinning at extremely high speeds on a horizontal or vertical axis platform.

Molten Metal Injection

Precisely alloyed liquid metal is poured directly into the spinning die cavity. The intense centrifugal force immediately pushes the heavy metal outward against the mold walls.

Directional Solidification

The metal cools under constant pressure from the outside diameter inward. Impurities and lighter oxides are forced to the inside layer, leaving a dense outer metallurgical structure.

Extraction & Core Boring

Once cooled and stopped, the cast tube is pulled from the mold. The inner layer, along with any trapped impurities, is machined away to leave a clean interior surface.
